Charl comes from a background of sports management, law and foreign affairs. He founded Spier Sports Management in 1999 in South Africa, which was eventually bought by Caylix Sport Management. Today he serves as a director at Caylix Sport Management, which serves as the management company of RTC.
Charl has worked with a number of tennis greats over the course of his sports management career, including Wayne Ferreira, Marcos Ondruska, David Nankin, Mariaan de Swardt and more. He helped bring international tournaments back to South Africa and was the manager for the South African Davis Cup team under Craig Tiley. He also managed Olympic athletes in various disciplines, including swimming and pole vaulting.
Prior to his sports management career, Charl worked as a diplomat at the Embassies for South Africa in Washington D.C., Copenhagen and Stockholm.
Maggy studied journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and worked at a public relations agency in Portland before joining the team at RTC. She competed on the Husker women's tennis team for four years and started her sophomore year with a pre-season ranking of #63 in the country. She competed in the #1 singles position, as well as #1 and #2 doubles positions, for the next three years.
Maggy is a media professional and freelance writer who has contributed to numerous publications, including Northwest Travel Magazine and the Omaha World-Herald. In addition to her writing and PR work, she is the publisher and editor of Northwest Tennis Magazine, a regional sports publication that launched in September 2017.
